Dear Metro Dog client,
Happy soon-to-be Holidays! We look forward to caring for your canine companion during the busy holiday time. This letter will inform you about holiday payments, our cancellation policy, and other things of note for the holiday season.
All boards starting between Nov. 15th and January 5th require a pre-payment to secure your dog’s spot. The pre-payment covers your dog’s overnight charges only. All other services – final day of daycare, late pick-up, baths, walks, etc – are paid on drop-off.
Please leave extra time at check-in. The holidays are busy times and the lobby is often crowded. We want to serve you swiftly, but request you have patience. One way to speed up the process is to print a boarding check-in form off our website, or pick one up next time you are at Metro Dog. Once you fill out the form, you can bring it in ready for check-in.
Updates on your pet are best requested through email rather than on the phone. You may email info@metrodog.com at any time with questions and we will happily get back to you as promptly as possible.
Thanksgiving reservations are defined as stays between November 15th – 30th.
Christmas/New Year’s reservations are stays between December 1st – January 5th.
Please note our payment and cancellation policy for the holidays:
1. Full payment of boarding charges is due by November 5th for Thanksgiving and December 5th for Christmas to confirm a reservation.
2. We refund in full if you cancel the board 14 or more days before the first day of your dog’s reservation.
3. Cancellations within 14 days forfeits 50% of your payment; the other 50% is put on your Metro Dog account for future services and is NOT eligible for refund.
4. Once your payment has been paid, you are still free to shorten your dog’s stay or check out early. The difference in price (ie overpaid amount) is added as a credit to your Metro Dog account for future services and is also not refundable. Extension of reservations during the 14 day period or after check-in may be possible as space permits.
5. To pay: Please either send a check (list your dog’s name and dates of stay in the memo line) or call in a credit card number to 510-524-3647. Please note that if
we have not received your payment by the due dates, you may be moved to our waiting list. Dogs without a payment do not have guaranteed space and will be boarded only if space allows.
Reminders on what to bring:
1. Place your food in a rigid plastic storage container with a lid. Label the container with your pup’s first/last name, and the am/pm feeding instructions. Food brought in bags will be repackaged into our Metro Dog containers for a fee of $4.
2. Please bring ONE article of bedding (please no socks or towels) that smells of home and is clearly labeled with first/last name. We also have both plastic and wire crates if your pet is used to sleeping in a crate at night. Please do not bring cloth crates as they get destroyed easily in social rooms.
3. You can also download and pre-fill out the Boarding Check-In Form from www.metrodog.com to save time at check-in.
4. If your dog is in a social room, please DO NOT bring toys or bones. If your dog is in a single or family room, toys and bones (though no raw hide) are fine.
5. Leave bowls at home. We use our own, easy-to-label bowls.
6. While Metro Dog makes every effort to keep track of your pet’s belongings, it is easy to misplace a leash or blanket during our peak season. Do not bring anything of sentimental value or the Louis Vuitton couture!
We look forward to loving your pooch(es) in your absence.
Woof woof,
The Staff at Metro Dog
