If your dog requires the peace and calm of a private room, then she may be a good candidate for our Private Boarding program. To be a Private Boarder, your pup does not need to be well socialized to other dogs, but she must be easily handled by people.
If your dog needs special attention of some sort – special medical treatment, monitoring of an existing condition, a revised daily routine, or specialized sleeping arrangements, then your dog might be a Special Needs dog.
Still not sure? Feel free to call us at 510. 524. DOGS and we will help you figure out where your canine companion will fit in best at Metro Dog!
ACTIVE ADULT
Welcome to the neighborhood! This is where the big boys and girls stay and play. All our guests have access to all seven different play yards on a rotating basis, and are kept company by up to fourteen other canine friends and a handler. And for your canine companion’s safety, the Center has staff on duty 24 hours a day. When your canine companion is not playing with his or her friends, he/she will have a clean and comfortable room to retire to. For those players reluctant to rest, we offer crates as an option.
DAY CARE
Active adult dogs spend their day circulating the different play yards with a group of friends and a dog handler. They move between the five indoor & two outdoor play yards. They also have designated times of rest where they retire to their rooms for a break in the fun and a chance to relax. This periodic rest-time, an opportunity to let their systems wind down, is a healthy component of the day at Metro Dog.
BOARDING
Active adult dogs live in the Big Dog Villages at Metro Dog. The East and West Villages are clusters of single (5’ x 8’), double (5’ x 8’), and triple (8’x 8’) rooms, furnished with raised mesh cots and your ‘smells like home’ bedding or ours, fresh filtered water, and overhead heating and ventilation. Housekeeping will visit your dog’s room daily to ensure that it is clean and tidy at all times. Nothing but the best for your best friend!
SMALL DOGS
Our small dogs (5 – 20 lbs) enjoy their very own wonderland.
DAY CARE
Our smallest guests stay in the Small Dog Town, a place of Big Fun. Our diminuitive town (actually their own wing of the center) caters to the whims and desires of your little one. Small dogs roam the indoor and outdoor yards throughout the day in their pint-sized pack, undisturbed by the big guys.
BOARDING
We have outfitted a row of cozy small dog dens (6 dogs per 9’x10’ room) with rubber floors, air conditioning and heating, and windows for natural light. Fresh filtered water, comfy hammocks, and good company make for a comfortable night at Metro Dog. Daily housekeeping and overnight supervising ensure the safety and comfort of your little friend.
TWEENIES
Our Tweenies (midsized dogs) keep company with other midsized dogs in comfortable dens apart from the big guys and the small dogs.
DAY CARE
Tweenies dogs spend their day circulating the different play yards with a group of medium-sized friends and a dog handler. They move between the five indoor & two outdoor play yards. They also have designated times of rest where they retire to their rooms for a break in the fun and a chance to relax. This periodic rest-time, an opportunity to let their systems wind down, is a healthy component of the day at Metro Dog.
BOARDING
We have outfitted a row of Tweenie dens (4 dogs per 9’x10’ room) with rubber floors, air conditioning and heating, and windows for natural light. Fresh filtered water, comfy plush beds, and good company make for a comfortable night at Metro Dog. Daily housekeeping and overnight supervising ensure the safety and comfort of your friend.
OLD HOUND
Your dog is moving slower than she used to in her prime. She may need special considerations and comforts due to her advanced age. Catering to the needs of your senior dog, the Old Hound Lounge offers a stress-free environment for easy-going pooches. When your canine companion is not playing with his or her friends or snoozing in the yards, he/she will have a comfortable, clean room to retire to.
DAY CARE
Our senior friends enjoy lazing around the Old Hound Lounge. The Old Hound Lounge is fully equipped with amenities like low-to-the-ground resting spots and extra heating to warm those old bones. Several times a day, the senior pack will have time to relax in the sun of our outdoor yards without being bothered by feisty younger dogs.
BOARDING
Our senior canine guests have their own neighborhood to call home. We have designed a senior-friendly environment away from the boisterous younger generations so old timers can relax at ease. With separate air conditioning and heating room temperatures can be kept comfortable, and 6-8 dogs share a roomy 10’ x 20’ lounge.
PUPPIES
DAY CARE & BOARDING
If your puppy is 4 months or younger – a real baby! – she will enjoy the Metro Dog Kindergarten, a spacious, toy-filled romper room for puppies only. Soft floors provide traction for playtime and padding for growing bones. Puppies will be given frequent nap times in their crates, and will be on a regular housebreaking schedule. Regular nap times and a stimulating activity center are designed to help your wee one develop strong a mind and body.
Puppies will interact throughout the day with their puppy peers; they will romp and roll and learn to be good canine citizens. Your little babies will learn all the abc’s of being a good member of both dog and human family. Extra training can be added to their day in a customized program created by the Metro Dog Academy trainers that will help you achieve your goals for them. And proud puppy parents receive a daily progress report on their little one’s development. Since puppies will not have all their shots yet, they are kept separate from the rest of the canine world at Metro Dog.
Once your puppy is vaccinated and ready, we can look at graduating him/her into our regular day care and boarding program with carefully selected playmates to insure safe and positive interactions for the best social development.
PRIVATE BOARDING
If your is spayed or neutered and requires the peace and calm of a private room, then she may be a good candidate for our Private Boarding program. To be a Private Boarder, your pup does not need to be well socialized to other dogs, but she MUST be easily handled by people.
The social world of a pack can be overwhelming for dogs with limited social experience. Your dog may thrive in the company of humans but shy away from playing in a large group of new dogs. If so, she will enjoy her own private room with all her toys and treats, and enjoy private one-on-one time with a handler four times a day.
SPECIAL NEEDS
If your dog needs special attention of some sort – special medical treatment, monitoring of an existing condition, a revised daily routine, or specialized sleeping arrangements, then your dog might be a Special Needs dog.
DAY CARE & BOARDING
Metro Dog is fully equipped to board pets with some special medical or behavioral needs. In their own soothing, low-stimulus area, special needs dogs get the attention and the quiet they need. Special Needs dogs are always boarded in single rooms.
Contact us about your individual needs and we will customize a healthy program for your special friend. Please note that while your dog may have special requirements, he or she MUST be easily handled by Metro Dog staff.
