New client enrollment process

Welcome to Metro Dog’s New-Client Enrollment Process. We look forward to meeting you and your pup! Before you can use Metro Dog’s boarding or day care services, you must come for a 5-hour assessment with your dog. You stay for the first 30-45 minutes; your dog stays for a half day of day care.

Once we receive your completed new-client enrollment paperwork, we will schedule an appointment for you and your dog.
You may send completed paperwork – 1. Metro Dog’s Service Agreement, and 2. Pet History and Application for Social Play – and copies of your dog’s vaccine records by email to info@metrodog.com or by fax to 510.526.1367 or by mail to Metro Dog, 3117 Pierce St., Richmond, CA 94804. Print the paperwork here.

If you have questions or concerns, email us at info@metrodog.com. Our staff are happy to answer any questions you have.

Attend an intake assessment (30-45 minutes) and have your dog spend a half day in day care immediately after the assessment (total 5 hours). When you arrive for your assessment you will meet with a staff member in our intake office. We will gather a bit more information, meet your pup, and answer your questions. We then take your dog to do a brief rooming, handling and social assessment. This gives us a snapshot of your dog and lets us know if there are any major concerns. We are looking at your dog’s level of dog-dog sociability, comfort in our rooms and comfort being handled by new people. While we are doing this, our front reception staff member will orient you to how you sign in, put your credit card on file and show you our self service leash wall where you can leave your dog’s leash for the day. This takes approximately 30-45 minutes. This portion is what we charged the $35 assessment fee for. Part two of the assessment, leaving your dog in day care for the next 4+ hours immediately follows as long as we saw no major red flags. The half day of day care is required and offered free of charge as a part of the overall process so we can better know your dog and set her up for success.

Assessment Appointments are offered Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 10 AM and 11 AM.

We do not offer tours of the center at the time of the assessment. Please come to one our weekly tours, Sundays at 4 p.m., except on holiday weekends. We highly recommend you take a tour so you know exactly where you are leaving your beloved. This is when we go into great depth about our program and you can map that against the spaces we walk through. This is for humans only; leave Fido at home.
