Ready to Join the Metro Dog Family?

Here’s how to register your pup, complete their profile, and schedule their first assessment day!

1. Register in Our Online Portal

To get started, create an account in our customer portal – Gingr.

  • New Clients: Register your dog to begin the application process.
  • Current Clients: Log in to Gingr and add your new dog under Account → Manage Profiles → Add a Pet.

2. Complete Your Dog’s Profile

Fill out the application portion of your dog’s profile as thoroughly as possible.

  • Upload a clear photo of your dog.
  • Upload or email their current vaccination records.
  • Be sure all info is accurate — it helps us match your dog to the right playgroup!

3. Watch for a Follow-Up Email

You’ll receive a response from our team within 24 hours of submitting your application.

  • Applications sent over the weekend will receive a response by the next business day.
  • If you don’t see our reply, please check your spam folder just in case.

4. Schedule Your Dog’s Assessment Day

Your dog’s first visit begins with a 30-minute meet & greet (you’ll stay for this part), followed by up to a 5-hour trial daycare stay.

  • Please book the assessment on a day you’ll be available by phone in case an early pickup is needed.
  • The assessment fee equals the half-day daycare rate for the program your dog joins.

💚 We can’t wait to meet your dog and welcome them to Metro Dog!

Please understand that we care about each and every dog that we meet and we want them all to thrive. As such, we know and accept that we are not the right fit for every dog. Not every dog loves an active, stimulating social environment, which is not a negative reflection on Metro dog or your pooch.

You are required to keep a valid credit card on file in our encrypted credit card system to be a Metro Dog client. All fees are charged at drop-off.

Assessment Requirements

Dogs 6 months and older must be spayed or neutered.

We require proof of current vaccinations for Rabies, Bordetella, DHLPP, and CIV (canine influenza). Titers for Rabies and DHLP are accepted. CIV is a series and the first round must be complete before your dog can come in. Puppies need their first round of shots, specifically Parvovirus, to begin attending.

What To Expect On The Assessment Day

When you arrive, call our front desk (510-524-DOGS) at your appointed time to let us know you’re here! Your assessor will greet you at your car and escort you one of our outside play yards to become aquatinted with your dog. You’ll stay for the first 30 minutes of your dog’s day during which time we will answer your questions and share information about our programs. We will go over procedures for drop off and put your credit card on file.

During the social evaluation, we observe your dog’s stress level and level of comfort in a new setting and meeting dogs. As long as we are not seeing red light signals, you may leave, and we will keep your pup for about 4-5 hours. Upon pick-up, we will give you their report card for the day and debrief how the day went and what their program and play group will be.

Please be available by phone to pick up your pup. If they show signs of stress we will call you to pick them up. It doesn’t mean they “failed” just that the new environment was a lot for them and ending earlier is better. We believe less is more and do not want to push your dog too much.

Please be prepared to provide a valid credit card to place on file in our encrypted credit card system. All fees are charged at time of drop off once your dog is accepted into our program.

We can’t wait to meet you and your furry beloved!
