Park Trip Adventure
Richmond Dog Walker & Park Trip Adventures
Looking for your pup’s next big adventure?
Our dog-friendly day trips in the Bay Area offer a one-of-a-kind experience in the stunning East Bay Regional Parks. Whether it’s running through the open fields at Point Isabel or exploring the trails of Wildcat Canyon, your dog will have a blast in the great outdoors.
What is Our Park Trip Dog Adventure?
Searching for “Where can I take my dog for fun?” Look no further! At Metro Dog, our Park Trip Dog Adventures offer off-leash small group excursions led by professional handlers.
Unlike a regular dog walker in Richmond, where your dog may be limited to sidewalks or short distances, our park trips let dogs explore the wild, natural beauty of the East Bay Regional Parks.
From open fields to wooded trails, each trip is tailored to suit your dog’s needs and energy levels, providing a more engaging, adventurous experience. Your pup will have the opportunity to play, exercise, and socialize with other dogs in a supervised environment.
What’s Included in Every Trip
- Supervised off-leash time in East Bay Regional Parks
- Transport to and from our Metro Dog facility
- Small groups of 3–6 dogs for personalized care
- 45–60 minutes of adventure
- Safety monitoring by trained and professional handlers
Adventure Dog Destinations – Where We Take Your Dog
Our team at Metro Dog is permitted to access several East Bay Regional Parks (EBRPD) in Berkeley that welcome commercial dog walkers. Each day, our experienced handlers carefully choose the best park based on conditions, terrain, and the needs of the group.
Point Isabel Dog Park
Located right by our facility, Point Isabel Dog Park is one of the most iconic off-leash destinations in the Bay Area. Known for its wide-open spaces and stunning waterfront views, it offers a perfect mix of fun and socialization for dogs of all energy levels.
As a regular destination for our park trips, we know this park better than anyone. There’s plenty of room for your pup to run, meet new friends, and splash in the water.
Wildcat Canyon Regional Park
If your dog loves exploring trails and wooded areas, Wildcat Canyon Regional Park is a fantastic choice. This park features more rugged terrain, flowing streams, and wildlife, perfect for dogs that need more than just an open run. Your furry friend gets to enjoy exploring nature and getting a good workout while having fun.
Albany Bulb Park & Other EBRPD Parks
In addition to Point Isabel and Wildcat Canyon, our team at Metro Dog regularly visits other EBRPD parks depending on the weather, group needs, and the overall adventure planned. Our handlers always make sure to keep things fresh by selecting parks that provide new sights and experiences, such as Albany Bulb Park.
All the parks we visit are thoroughly vetted and permitted, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for your dog. Not sure about a specific park? Feel free to reach out to our team with any questions about the locations we visit!
Is Your Dog Ready?
Eligibility Requirements For Park Adventures
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of every dog on the trip, our Park Trip Dog Adventures are available exclusively to existing Metro Dog clients. We have specific eligibility criteria that help us determine if your dog is ready for a fun-filled day outdoors.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current Metro Dog client
- Excellent off-leash recall
- No unresolved bite history or significant behavioral issues
- Physically fit for 45–60 minutes of adventure
- Comfortable with vehicle transport
- No health conditions that would limit safe participation in off-leash activities
Our Evaluation Process
If your dog meets the above eligibility criteria, we’ll go through a two-stage evaluation process before your pup can join regular park trips:
- Stage 1: 1–3 evaluation trips in a small 3-dog group. We assess your dog’s recall, behavior, and overall fit for park trips. Each evaluation trip costs $75.
- Stage 2: Once approved, your dog can join regular park trips for $30 each.
If your dog needs additional training or support, we also offer training sessions that can be integrated into the evaluation process.

Our Park Trip Terms
While we strive to create a fun and safe environment for your dog, it’s important to remember that parks are natural and sometimes unpredictable environments. Dogs can act out of character in new situations, which is why our experienced handlers are trained to handle any challenges that may arise.
By participating in our Park Trip Dog Adventures, clients agree to assume liability for their dogs’ behavior. We reserve the right to cancel trips or remove dogs from the group for safety reasons. We are not financially liable for any injuries that may occur during a trip.

Terms and Conditions
The parks are an unpredictable environment. Dogs can behave in ways that are out of character depending on the circumstance they are encountering. Our dog walkers are skilled in off-leash handling and management. Our number one priority is to keep everyone safe. For this reason, there may be a reason a trip is canceled or your dog doesn’t go on a day you requested a park trip.
To participate in this program means that you understand that all group walks happen at Metro Dog’s discretion. At any time, we reserve the right to NOT have your dog participate. We are always putting the dog’s welfare first.
Park trips have inherent risks. Clients assume all risks and liability for their dog while in the park. We travel by van to the park, encounter other people and animals while on our trip, and are in nature where a host of environmental risks exist.
We cannot guarantee that your dog will be unharmed in some way on these trips. If you are uncomfortable with the risks, we do not recommend this program. As dog owners who are liable for their dogs, all our group walk clients must be comfortable with the risks/responsibilities. You must be comfortable assuming responsibility for your dog’s behavior, regardless of your dog’s intent, as well as assume full liability for your dog.
You agree to hold Metro Dog and its agents harmless. Metro Dog will not be financially liable for injuries that may occur while out in the park system or in transit to or from the park. You agree to pay for any damage to property, animal or person that your dog is responsible for while on an outing, and you agree to trust the Metro Dog staff person’s communication of events or incidents involving your dog.
Metro Dog reserves the right to cancel park trips on any given day. Please sign below, indicating that you understand and accepts the risks of participating in the park trip program. The risks are not limited to the examples listed here.
In order to participate, your dog will first be taken on one to several 3-Dog Park Trips while we evaluate recall, behavior, and develop rapport to safely move into an off-leash situation. These initial park trips cost $75 each. Once approved, regular Park Trips cost $30 each.
