Meet the Team at Metro Dog
From the moment your pup walks through our doors at Metro Dog, they’re surrounded by a team that understands pet behavior, prioritizes safety, and genuinely loves what they do.
Our staff brings decades of combined experience in dog care, training, and socialization. Whether your pup is joining us for dog daycare in Richmond, staying overnight for boarding, visiting for grooming, or working with us through our training programs, they’re always in capable, caring hands.
Our Team
Behind every happy tail wag is a team member who made it happen.
Our staff is trained to read dog behavior, manage group play safely, and build real connections with every pup in our care.
Keyon Gray
General Manager
Years of Experience:
I’ve been working with dogs in some capacity for about 20 years. I’ve been at daycares for 19 years, and I’ve been at Metro Dog for 17 years!
Focus Area:
I do a bit of everything, and now my role is the general manager. My in-house special talent is my ability to understand, predict, and shape dog behavior, especially in social settings.
Fun Fact:
I used to think I had a favorite breed, but 9 years in this industry taught me to love every dog I meet! If I ever have a pup of my own, I’m dreaming big—I’ve got a soft spot for “gentle giants” like Irish Wolfhounds or Great Danes.
Why I Love This Work:
For me, it’s all about the journey of building trust. I love watching a dog grow from a rambunctious puppy into a well-rounded adult and knowing I played a part in that development. Whether it’s winning over a cautious dog or noticing a subtle change in a senior’s health before anyone else, I value the deep connection we share. There’s nothing quite like a tail wag and a “butt wiggle” to turn a taxing day into a great one.

Kiani
Assistant General Manager
Years of Experience:
My journey with dogs began 9 years ago, right here at Metro Dog. Over nearly a decade, I’ve grown alongside this community, evolving from hands-on care to my current role as Assistant General Manager.
Focus Area:
While I’m a “jack-of-all-trades” who jumps into any area where I’m needed, my true specialty is the logistics of care. I thrive on organizing the daily flow of our center—balancing staff, services, and dogs. I take pride in being the person who can pivot and reorganize seamlessly when the day throws a curveball.

Fun Fact:
On the weekends in the pre-dawn darkness, you can find me running the trails with a pack of dogs. They’re the best running partners. They get sniffs, I get sunrises.
Why I Love This Work:
What’s not to love? Dogs are the heart and soul of our community. If you sit and stay awhile, they’ll teach you all about patience, kindness, and compassion. And for just a few treats, you’ll have a friend for life. 🙂

Behavioral Training & Socialization
Fun Fact:
At home, I’m a proud dog parent to Aspen and a sweet senior Chihuahua. After nearly a decade in the industry, my favorite “pro tip” is simple: Dogs truly just want to make you the happiest person in the world.
Why I Love This Work:
The best part of my job is that my family extends far beyond my own front door. I essentially have 100+ other dogs who love me! There is no better feeling, or a bigger serotonin boost, than walking into a yard and being greeted by a sea of wagging tails and excited barks. Knowing they are just as happy to see me as I am to see them makes every day worth it.
