Holiday Reservation and Cancellation Policies

2023-2024 Holiday Period

  • Thanksgiving: November 17-26, 2023

  • Christmas/New Year’s: December 22, 2023- January 2, 2024

    Metro Dog has different policies in place for daycare and boarding during the holiday periods listed above that all clients who book during these times agree to. Please review the policies below. All reservations during this period are subject to these policies.

Day Care During the Holiday Periods

  • Daycare reservations are highly recommended throughout the holiday period and are required November 22-24 and December 23-26. A $12 surcharge will be added to drop in’s without reservations during these dates. Drop-ins are allowed but are not guaranteed for daycare outside of these dates.

  • Day care cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance or will be charged. Same-day daycare cancellations or no-shows are charged during these dates. The special drop-off/pick-up fee is $26 for daycare on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Boarding Minimum

  • There is a 2-night minimum for boarding Nov. 22-24, 2022 and Dec. 23-26, 2022.

  • There are no minimum nights required for any other dates during the holiday period.

Prepayment Policy

  • Metro Dog requires prepayment in full for all holiday boarding 14 days before the board begins.

  • There is NO prepayment required for daycare during the holiday period. However, no-shows for reserved daycare are charged in full during the holiday period.

Holiday Reservations Confirmation

  • A valid credit card must be on file at the time the reservation is made to confirm a holiday reservation. Any client credit card that declines when prepayments are processed 14 days before the board is scheduled to begin will NOT be guaranteed a space. We will email clients whose credit card declines when prepayment is charged. The client must immediately provide prepayment to keep the reservation. After the second attempt to collect prepayment, a $50 administrative charge will be added to the reservation. Failure to prepay 14 days in advance will result in reservation cancelation.

Cancellation Policy

  • Boarding prepayments are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations incur no financial penalty if made more than 14 days prior to the board prior to prepayment deadline.

  • Cancellations made within 14 days from the start of the stay forfeit 50% of the boarding fee. (We refund 100% of the cost of add-on services you’ve scheduled and prepaid.) The other 50% is put on the client’s Metro Dog account for future use at the center.

  • Prepayments are not refunded to credit cards within 14 days of the start of the board.

Boarding Reservation Changes

  • You may change your reservation and/or cancel it without penalty up to 14 days in advance of the stay. Within 14 days, shortened stays are charged for the full reservation originally booked and overstays are charged an additional $30 per night above the standard rate of the reservation.

Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

  • There is no half-day daycare available on these two days. You may use as few hours as you like, but will be charged for a full day.

  • We charge a special drop off/pick up fee for anyone needing to drop off/pick up on these two days for daycare or boarding. It is a single fee for both the drop-off and pick-up if your dog is doing daycare on these days. The rate is the listed fee for early drop off or late pick up service.

  • Early drop off and late pick up fees are charged the current listed rate for those services.

  • An advance appointment to pick up or drop off on these two days is required.

Specialty Program Day Care

  • We regret that space constraints may cause restrictions on the Puppy, Semi Private, and Private programs during the holidays. Please send in your reservation early and we will let you know if we can offer the service you need.

  • Puppy, Private and Semi-Private boarding is available during holiday periods but fills early as space is very limited. Reservations are required.
